✧ I prayed with the Prophet ﷺ one night, and he began reciting Surah Al-Baqarah. He recited until he reached the verse of one hundred, at which point I thought he would bow. However, he continued reciting until he reached the verse of two hundred, and again I thought he would bow. But he continued reciting until he completed the Surah. I then thought he would bow, but he said: "Then he began reciting Surah An-Nisa. He recited it, then he bowed. In his bowing, he said: "Glory be to my Lord, the Most Great." His bowing was the same length as his standing. Then he prostrated and his prostration was as long as his bowing. In his prostration, he said: "Glory be to my Lord, the Most High." Whenever he passed by a verse of mercy, he would ask for mercy, and whenever he passed by a verse of punishment, he sought refuge (with Allah), and whenever he passed by a verse in which Allah was glorified, he would glorify (Allah).
