✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ narrated two hadiths to us; I have seen one of them, and I am awaiting the other. He narrated to us that the trust descended into the roots of men's hearts, then the Qur'an descended, and they learned from the Qur'an and learned from the Sunnah. Then he narrated to us about the removal of the trust, saying: "A man sleeps a sleep and the trust is grasped from his heart, leaving a trace like the trace of a blister. Then he sleeps another sleep and the trust is grasped from his heart, leaving a trace like the trace of a callus, like an ember you roll over your foot; you see it raised but there is nothing in it." He said: Then he took some pebbles and rolled them over his foot. He said: "Then the people wake up trading with one another, and hardly anyone fulfills the trust, until it is said: 'Among the tribe of so-and-so there is a trustworthy man.' Until it is said of a man: 'How tough he is, how charming he is, how intelligent he is,' while there is not a mustard seed's weight of faith in his heart. And indeed, a time has come upon me when I did not care which of you I traded with: if he was a Muslim, his religion would return it to me, and if he was a Christian or a Jew, his authority would return it to me. But today, I would not trade with any of you except so-and-so and so-and-so."
