حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ قَابُوسَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

لَيْسَ مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا وَقَدْ وُكِّلَ بِهِ قَرِينُهُ مِنَ الشَّيَاطِينِ، قَالُوا: وَأَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، وَلَكِنَّ اللهَ أَعَانَنِي عَلَيْهِ فَأَسْلَمَ

Translation

There is none amongst you with whom is not an attache from amongst the jinn (devil). They (the Companions) said: Messenger of Allah, with you too? Thereupon he said: Yes, but Allah helps me against him and so I am safe from his hand and he does not command me but for good. (Using translation from Muslim 2814a)
