حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُوحٍ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ سُمَيٍّ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ
رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَسْكُبُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ الْمَاءَ بِالسُّقْيَا إِمَّا مِنَ الْحَرِّ، وَإِمَّا مِنَ الْعَطَشِ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ، ثُمَّ لَمْ يَزَلْ صَائِمًا حَتَّى أَتَى كَدِيدًا، ثُمَّ دَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَأَفْطَرَ، وَأَفْطَرَ النَّاسُ وَهُوَ عَامُ الْفَتْحِ

✧ I saw the Prophet ﷺ pouring water on his head at al-Suqya, either from heat or from thirst, while he was fasting. Then he continued to fast until he reached Kadid; then he called for water and broke his fast, and the people broke their fast. That was the year of the conquest.
