حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ صَيْفِيٍّ عَنْ أَبِيهِعَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ
إِنَّ صُهَيْبًا قَدِمَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ تَمْرٌ وَخُبْزٌ، قَالَ: ادْنُ فَكُلْ. فَأَخَذَ يَأْكُلُ مِنَ التَّمْرِ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: إِنَّ بِعَيْنِكَ رَمَدًا؟ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّمَا آكُلُ مِنَ النَّاحِيَةِ الْأُخْرَى. قَالَ: فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
Translation

✧ Suhayb came to the Prophet ﷺ while there were dates and bread before him. He said: Come near and eat. He began eating from the dates. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: You have an inflammation in your eye? He said: Messenger of God, I am eating from the other side. He said: The Messenger of God ﷺ smiled.
