حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ عَمٍّ لَهُ

أَنَّهُ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: قُلْ لِي قَوْلًا يَنْفَعُنِي، وَأَقْلِلْ لَعَلِّي أَعِيهِ؟ قَالَ: لَا تَغْضَبْ. فَعَادَ لَهُ مِرَارًا، كُلَّ ذَلِكَ يَرْجِعُ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ لَا تَغْضَبْ

Translation

✧ A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: Tell me a saying that will benefit me, and make it brief, that I may remember it. He said: Do not become angry. He repeated his request several times, and each time the Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied: Do not become angry.
