حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ رُومَانَ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ خَوَّاتِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ
عَمَّنْ صَلَّى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ ذَاتِ الرِّقَاعِ صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ أَنَّ طَائِفَةً صَفَّتْ مَعَهُ، وَطَائِفَةً وِجَاهَ الْعَدُوِّ، فَصَلَّى بِالَّتِي مَعَهُ رَكْعَةً، ثُمَّ ثَبَتَ قَائِمًا، وَأَتَمُّوا لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ، ثُمَّ انْصَرَفُوا، فَصَفُّوا وِجَاهَ الْعَدُوِّ، وَجَاءَتِ الطَّائِفَةُ الْأُخْرَى، فَصَلَّى بِهِمُ الرَّكْعَةَ الَّتِي بَقِيَتْ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ، ثُمَّ ثَبَتَ جَالِسًا، وَأَتَمُّوا لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ، ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ.
Translation

✧ From one who prayed the prayer of fear with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Dhat al-Riqa': that one group formed a row with him, and another group faced the enemy. He prayed one rak'ah with those who were with him, then remained standing, and they completed [the prayer] for themselves. Then they departed and formed a row facing the enemy. The other group came, and he prayed with them the rak'ah that remained of his prayer, then remained sitting, and they completed [the prayer] for themselves. Then he said the salam.

machine translationI asked my father and Abū Zurʿah about a hadith narrated by ʿAbdullāh al-ʿUmarī, from his brother ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿUmar, from al-Qāsim b. Muḥammad, from Ṣāliḥ b. Khawwāt, from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ, concerning the fear prayer (ṣalāt al-khawf). I said: Abū Uways narrated it from Yazīd b. Rūmān, from Ṣāliḥ b. Khawwāt, from his father; and Mālik said, from Yazīd b. Rūmān, from Ṣāliḥ b. Khawwāt, from one who prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. My father said: This is a mistake. It is said: from Ṣāliḥ b. Khawwāt, from Sahl b. Abī Ḥathmah, from the Prophet ﷺ, and this is the sound (ṣaḥīḥ) version.
