حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى أَنَّ بُشَيْرَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرِ بِالتَّمْرِ، وَرَخَّصَ فِي الْعَرِيَّةِ قَالَ: وَالْعَرِيَّةُ النَّخْلَةُ، وَالنَّخْلَتَانِ يَشْتَرِيهِمَا الرَّجُلُ بِخَرْصِهِمَا مِنَ التَّمْرِ، فَيَضْمَنُهُمَا، فَرَخَّصَ فِي ذَلِكَ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade selling fresh dates for dried dates, but he allowed the ariyya. He said: "The ariyya is one or two palm trees that a man buys based on their estimated dried date equivalent, and he takes responsibility for them. He allowed that."
