حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ عَنْ عَمِّهَا قَالَ
إِنِّي لَبِسُوقِ ذِي الْمَجَازِ عَلَيَّ بُرْدَةٌ لِي مَلْحَاءُ أَسْحَبُهَا، قَالَ: فَطَعَنَنِي رَجُلٌ بِمِخْصَرَةٍ، فَقَالَ: ارْفَعْ إِزَارَكَ، فَإِنَّهُ أَبْقَى وَأَنْقَى، فَنَظَرْتُ، فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، فَنَظَرْتُ، فَإِذَا إِزَارُهُ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ سَاقَيْهِ
Translation

✧ I was in the market of Dhu al-Majaz, wearing a striped cloak of mine that I was dragging along. A man poked me with a staff and said: "Raise your lower garment, for it is more lasting and cleaner." I looked and saw that it was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I looked and saw that his lower garment reached to the middle of his shins.
