حَدَّثَنَا الْخُزَاعِيُّ وَهُوَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَحْمَرَ اسْمُهُ جِبْرِيلُ عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
تُوُفِّيَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَزْدِ، فَلَمْ يَدَعْ وَارِثًا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: الْتَمِسُوا لَهُ وَارِثًا، الْتَمِسُوا لَهُ ذَا رَحِمٍ قَالَ: فَلَمْ يُوجَدْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: ادْفَعُوهُ إِلَى أَكْبَرِ خُزَاعَةَ

✧ A man from the Azd died leaving no heir, so the Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Seek an heir for him; seek a relative of his." He said: "No one was found." Then the Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Give it to the eldest of Khuza'ah."
