حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا جَمِيلٌ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ اللهُمَّ لَا يُدْرِكْنِي زَمَانٌ أَوْ لَا تُدْرِكُوا زَمَانًا لَا يُتْبَعُ فِيهِ الْعَلِيمُ وَلَا يُسْتَحَى فِيهِ مِنَ الْحَلِيمِ قُلُوبُهُمْ قُلُوبُ الْأَعَاجِمِ وَأَلْسِنَتُهُمْ أَلْسِنَةُ الْعَرَبِ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O Allah, do not let me live to see a time—or do not let you live to see a time—in which the learned are not followed, and in which modesty is not shown before the forbearing. Their hearts are the hearts of non-Arabs, and their tongues are the tongues of Arabs.'
