حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْغَسِيلِ عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَعَبَّاسِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ
عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَا مَرَّ بِنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَصْحَابٌ لَهُ فَخَرَجْنَا مَعَهُ حَتَّى انْطَلَقْنَا إِلَى حَائِطٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ الشَّوْطُ حَتَّى إِذَا انْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى حَائِطَيْنِ جَلَسْنَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اجْلِسُوا وَدَخَلَ هُوَ وَأُتِيَ بِالْجَوْنِيَّةِ فَعُزِلَتْ فِي بَيْتٍ فِي النَّخْلِ أُمَيْمَةُ ابِنْةُ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ شَرَاحِيلَ وَمَعَهَا دَايَةٌ لَهَا فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ هَبِي لِي نَفْسَكِ قَالَتْ وَهَلْ تَهَبُ الْمَلِكَةُ نَفْسَهَا لِلسُّوقَةِ؟ قَالَ غَيْرُ أَبِي أَحْمَدَ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ بَنِي الْجَوْنِ يُقَالُ لَهَا أُمَيْنَةُ قَالَتْ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنْكَ قَالَ لَقَدْ عُذْتِ بِمُعَاذٍ ثُمَّخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا أُسَيْدٍ اكْسُهَا فَارِسِيَّتَيْنِ وَأَلْحِقْهَا بِأَهْلِهَا

✧ From his father, they both said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by us with some of his companions, and we went out with him until we set off to a walled garden called al-Shawt. When we reached two walled gardens, we sat between them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Sit," and he entered. The Jawniyya woman was brought and secluded in a house among the palm trees — Umayma bt. al-Nu'man b. Sharahil, and with her was a nurse of hers. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon her, he said, "Give yourself to me." She said, "Does a queen give herself to a commoner?" Other than Abu Ahmad said: A woman from Banu al-Jawn called Umayna said, "I seek refuge in Allah from you." He said, "You have sought refuge with One who grants refuge." Then he came out to us and said, "O Abu Usayd, clothe her with two Persian garments and send her back to her family."
