حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ عَنْ الصُّنَابِحِيِّ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ

إِنِّي مِنَ النُّقَبَاءِ الَّذِينَ بَايَعُوا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، قَالَ: وَبَايَعْنَاهُ عَلَى أَنْ لَا نُشْرِكَ بِاللهِ شَيْئًا، وَلَا نَزْنِيَ، وَلَا نَسْرِقَ، وَلَا نَقْتُلَ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللهُ، وَلَا نَنْتَهِبَ، وَإِنْ غَشِينَا مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا كَانَ قَضَاءُ ذَلِكَ إِلَى اللهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى

Translation

✧ I am among the nuqabā’ (representatives) who gave allegiance to the Messenger of God ﷺ. He said: We pledged allegiance to him that we would not associate anything with God, not commit adultery, not steal, not kill the soul which God has made inviolable, and not plunder. And if we fell into any of that, the judgment of that would be up to God, Blessed and Exalted is He.
