حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو قَتَادَةَ أَوْ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ

كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَسُورَةٍ، وَيُطِيلُ فِي الْأُولَيَيْنِ، وَفِي الْعَصْرِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، وَيُسْمِعُنَا الْآيَةَ أَحْيَانًا

✧ Narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in the two Rak'ahs of Dhuhr prayer Al-Fatiha and a Surah, and he would prolong the recitation in the first two Rak'ahs. And in Asr prayer, he would do the same and would sometimes recite an Ayah out loud for us.
