حَدَّثَنَا يَعْمَرُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ أَخْبَرَنَا رِشْدِينُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو هَانِئٍ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ

عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْجَنْبِيِّ أَنَّ فَضَالَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدٍ وَعُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ حَدَّثَاهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ وَفَرَغَ اللهُ مِنْ قَضَاءِ الْخَلْقِ فَيَبْقَى رَجُلَانِ فَيُؤْمَرُ بِهِمَا إِلَى النَّارِ فَيَلْتَفِتُ أَحَدُهُمَا فَيَقُولُ الْجَبَّارُ رُدُّوهُ فَيَرُدُّونَهُ قَالَ لَهُ لِمَ الْتَفَتَّ؟ قَالَ إِنْ كُنْتُ أَرْجُو أَنْ تُدْخِلَنِي الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ فَيُؤْمَرُ بِهِ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ فَيَقُولُ لَقَدْ أَعْطَانِي اللهُ حَتَّى لَوْ أَنِّي أَطْعَمْتُ أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ مَا نَقَصَ ذَلِكَ مَا عِنْدِي شَيْئًا قَالَ فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا ذَكَرَهُ يُرَى السُّرُورُ فِي وَجْهِهِ

  6. Faḍālah b. ʿUbayd And ʿUbādah b. al-Ṣāmit Ḥaddathāh

✧ From ʿAmr b. Mālik al-Janbī that Faḍālah b. ʿUbayd and ʿUbādah b. al-Ṣāmit narrated to him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When the Day of Resurrection comes and Allah has finished judging the creation, two men will remain. They will be ordered to the Fire. One of them will turn around, and the Compeller will say: 'Return him.' So they will return him. He will say to him: 'Why did you turn around?' He will say: 'I was hoping that You would admit me to Paradise.' He said: Then he will be ordered to Paradise, and he will say: 'Allah has given me so much that if I were to feed all the people of Paradise, that would not diminish what I have in the slightest.'" He said: "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned this, joy could be seen on his face."
