حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ عَنْ سِنَانِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ تَوَضَّأَ، فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا، وَيَدَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا، وَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ، وَقَالَ: الْأُذُنَانِ مِنَ الرَّأْسِ قَالَ حَمَّادٌ: فَلَا أَدْرِي مِنْ قَوْلِ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ أَوْ مِنْ قَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْمُوقَيْنِ.

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ablution: he washed his face three times, his hands three times each, and wiped his head, and he said: The ears are part of the head. Hammad said: I do not know whether this is from the words of Abu Umamah or from the words of the Prophet ﷺ. And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wipe over the leather socks.
