✧ Heads were brought from Iraq and set up at the gate of the mosque. Abu Umamah came, entered the mosque, prayed two rak'ahs, then went out to them. He looked at them, raised his head, and said: The worst slain under the shade of the sky - three times - and the best slain under the shade of the sky are those whom they killed. He said: Dogs of the Fire - three times. Then he wept and turned away from them. Someone said to him: O Abu Umamah, do you consider this statement where you said 'Dogs of the Fire' something you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ or something you say by your own opinion? He said: Glory be to Allah! If I had heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ once or twice - until he mentioned seven times - I would have thought I should not mention it. So the man said: For what reason did you weep? He said: Out of mercy for them, or from mercy toward them.
