✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ encamped, the Muhājirūn would be the ones nearest to him. We encamped one time, and the Prophet ﷺ stood up while we were around him. Muʿādh and I awoke during the night and looked for him. We went out seeking him, and we heard a buzzing like the buzzing of millstones as he approached. When he came, he said: What is the matter with you? They said: We awoke and did not see you where you had been. We feared something had happened to you, so we came seeking you. He said: Someone came to me in my sleep and gave me the choice between half of my community entering Paradise or intercession, and I chose intercession for them. We said: We ask you by the right of Islam and by the right of companionship that you enter us into Paradise. The people gathered around him and said to him the like of what we said, and the people became many. He said: I will make my intercession for whoever dies without associating anything with God.
