حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ الْجَدَلِيِّ عَنْ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ

جَعَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ لِلْمُسَافِرِ، وَيَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً لِلْمُقِيمِ، وَايْمُ اللهِ، لَوْ مَضَى السَّائِلُ فِي مَسْأَلَتِهِ لَجَعَلَهَا خَمْسًا.

✧ The Prophet ﷺ set three days for the traveler, and a day and a night for the resident. By God, if the questioner had continued in his questioning, he would have made it five.
