حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَتْ
كَانَ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ لَا يُحَدِّثُ بِحَدِيثٍ إِلَّا تَبَسَّمَ فِيهِ. فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: إِنِّي أَخْشَى أَنْ يُحَمِّقَكَ النَّاسُ. فَقَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يُحَدِّثُ بِحَدِيثٍ إِلَّا تَبَسَّمَ

✧ Abu al-Darda' would not narrate a hadith without smiling during it. I said to him: "I fear that the people will think you are foolish." He said: "The Messenger of God ﷺ would not narrate a hadith without smiling."
