حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى حَدَّثَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ اللَّيْثِيُّ أَبُو ضَمْرَةَ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَزْدِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ

ثُمَّ أَوْرَثْنَا الْكِتَابَ الَّذِينَ اصْطَفَيْنَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا فَمِنْهُمْ ظَالِمٌ لِنَفْسِهِ وَمِنْهُمْ مُقْتَصِدٌ وَمِنْهُمْ سَابِقٌ بِالْخَيْرَاتِ بِإِذْنِ اللهِ فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ سَبَقُوا فَأُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ، وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ اقْتَصَدُوا فَأُولَئِكَ يُحَاسَبُونَ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا، وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ فَأُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ يُحْبَسُونَ فِي طُولِ الْمَحْشَرِ، ثُمَّ هُمُ الَّذِينَ تَلَافَاهُمُ اللهُ بِرَحْمَتِهِ، فَهُمُ الَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ: الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِي أَذْهَبَ عَنَّا الْحَزَنَ إِنَّ رَبَّنَا لَغَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ لُغُوبٌ

Translation

✧ Then We caused to inherit the Book those whom We chose from among Our servants, and among them is one who wrongs his own soul, and among them is one who is moderate, and among them is one who is foremost in good deeds by God's permission. As for those who are foremost, they are the ones who will enter Paradise without accounting. As for those who are moderate, they will be called to account with an easy reckoning. As for those who wronged themselves, they are the ones who will be detained along the length of the gathering place. Then they are the ones whom God will rescue with His mercy. They are the ones who say: Praise be to God who has removed from us sorrow. Indeed, our Lord is Forgiving, Appreciative — until His saying: fatigue.
