✧ A man came to Abu al-Darda and said: My wife is my cousin and I love her, but my mother orders me to divorce her. He said: I do not order you to divorce her, nor do I order you to disobey your mother, but I will tell you a hadith I heard from the Messenger of God ﷺ. I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: The mother is the middle gate of Paradise, so if you wish, keep her, and if you wish, leave her.
