✧ When the Prophet ﷺ came to Madinah, Zaid said: I was brought to the Prophet ﷺ, and he was impressed with me. They said: O Messenger of Allah, this is a boy from Banu al-Najjar, and he has with him some ten-plus surahs of what Allah has revealed to you. That impressed the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: O Zaid, learn for me the script of the Jews, for by Allah I do not trust the Jews regarding my scripture. Zaid said: So I learned their script for him; not fifteen nights passed before I mastered it, and I used to read their letters to him when they wrote to him, and I would reply on his behalf when he wrote.
