✧ We were with the Messenger of God ﷺ on a journey, and a man came to him and said, “The other one has committed fornication.” He turned away from him, then he repeated it a third time, then a fourth. The Prophet ﷺ descended—and one time he said: “He confessed fornication to him, and he repeated it four times—then he descended and ordered us, so we dug a pit for him that was not deep, and he was stoned. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ departed gloomy and sad, and we traveled until he stopped at a place, and the Messenger of God ﷺ was relieved. He said to me, “O Abu Dharr, did you not see that your companion was forgiven and admitted to Paradise?”
