✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting while two sheep were feeding, and one of them butted the other and caused it to miscarry. Abu Dharr said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed, and it was said to him: 'What makes you laugh, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'I marvel at her. By the One in whose hand is my soul, retaliation will surely be taken for her on the Day of Resurrection.'

machine translationIn it is Layth b. Abī Sulaym, who is a concealer of defects in transmission (mudallis). The rest of Aḥmad's narrators are narrators of the Ṣaḥīḥ, except for his teacher Ibn ʿĀʾishah, who is trustworthy (thiqah). The narrators of the second narration are narrators of the Ṣaḥīḥ, but in it is a narrator who is not named.

machine translationLayth b. Abī Sulaym narrates it from Abū Qays ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Tharwān, from Hudhayl, from Abū Dharr. Al-Ṭufāwī, Ṣadaqah b. Mūsā and others narrated it from him. Muḥammad b. Ḥibbān al-Baṣrī reported it from one of his shaykhs, from al-Ṭufāwī, from Ayyūb al-Sakhtiyānī, from Abū Qays, from Hudhayl, from Abū Dharr, and he made an error (wahima) in it. Rather, al-Ṭufāwī narrated it from Layth, from Abū Qays, and that is the correct version.
