حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لِأَبِي ذَرٍّ: لَوْ كُنْتُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَسَأَلْتُهُ. قَالَ: عَنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ؟ قُلْتُ: أَسْأَلُهُ: هَلْ رَأَى مُحَمَّدٌ رَبَّهُ؟ قَالَ: فَقَالَ: قَدْ سَأَلْتُهُ، فَقَالَ: نُورًا أَنَّى أَرَاهُ
Translation

✧ I said to Abu Dharr: If I had seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I would have asked him. He said: About what? I said: I would ask him: Did Muhammad see his Lord? He said: I asked him, and he said: 'A light; how could I see Him?'
