حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ ثَقِيفٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ فُلَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ قَالَ
لَقِيَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، وَجَعَلَ - أُرَاهُ قَالَ: - قَبِيعَةَ سَيْفِهِ فِضَّةً، فَنَهَاهُ، وَقَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: مَا مِنْ إِنْسَانٍ أَوْ قَالَ: أَحَدٍ تَرَكَ صَفْرَاءَ أَوْ بَيْضَاءَ إِلَّا كُوِيَ بِهَا
Translation

✧ Abu Dharr met Abu Hurayrah, and he had made—I think he said—the pommel of his sword of silver, so he forbade him. Abu Dharr said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: There is no person—or he said: no one—who leaves behind yellow (gold) or white (silver) except that he will be branded with it.
