حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ

أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي [عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ] بِثَلَاثٍ: اسْمَعْ وَأَطِعْ وَلَوْ لِعَبْدٍ مُجَدَّعِ الْأَطْرَافِ، وَإِذَا صَنَعْتَ مَرَقَةً فَأَكْثِرْ مَاءَهَا، ثُمَّ انْظُرْ أَهْلَ بَيْتٍ مِنْ جِيرَانِكَ فَأَصِبْهُمْ مِنْهُ بِمَعْرُوفٍ، وَصَلِّ الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا، إِذَا وَجَدْتَ الْإِمَامَ قَدْ صَلَّى فَقَدْ أَحْرَزْتَ صَلَاتَكَ، وَإِلَّا فَهِيَ نَافِلَةٌ

Translation

✧ My beloved friend ﷺ enjoined me with three things: Hear and obey even if it be to a slave with maimed limbs. And when you make a broth, make its water plentiful, then look to a household among your neighbors and give them some of it with kindness. And pray the prayer at its proper time; if you find that the imam has already prayed, then you have secured your prayer, otherwise it is supererogatory.
