حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لِأَبِي ذَرٍّ: لَوْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَسَأَلْتُهُ. قَالَ: وَمَا كُنْتَ تَسْأَلُهُ؟ قَالَ: كُنْتُ أَسْأَلُهُ هَلْ رَأَى رَبَّهُ [عَزَّ وَجَلَّ] ؟ قَالَ: فَإِنِّي قَدْ سَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ: قَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ نُورًا، أَنَّى أَرَاهُ ؟!

✧ I said to Abu Dharr: If I had seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I would have asked him. He said: What would you have asked him? I said: I would have asked him whether he saw his Lord [mighty and majestic]. He said: I indeed asked him, and he said: I saw Him as light. How could I see Him?!
