✧ al-Tufayl bin Abi bin Ka'b, from his father

حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الْحَرَّانِي حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ عَنْ الطُّفَيْلِ بْنِ أُبَيٍّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

لَوْلَا الْهِجْرَةُ لَكُنْتُ امْرَأً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، وَلَوْ سَلَكَ النَّاسُ شِعْبًا -أَوْ قَالَ: وَادِيًا - لَكُنْتُ مَعَ الْأَنْصَارِ ".

✧ Were it not for the Hijrah, I would have been a man of the Anṣār; and if the people were to travel through a mountain pass—or he said: a valley—I would be with the Anṣār.
