✧ There was a man in Madinah—I do not know of any man whose dwelling (or he said: house) was farther from the mosque than his. It was said to him: 'If only you would buy a donkey to ride in the heat and the darkness.' He said: 'It would not please me that my house (or he said: my dwelling) be next to the mosque.' The report reached the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he said: 'What did you intend by your saying: It would not please me that my dwelling (or he said: my house) be next to the mosque?' He said: 'I intended that my going be recorded when I go to the mosque, and my return when I return to my family.' He said: 'God, exalted is He, has granted you all of that,' or 'God has given you all that you hoped for in its entirety,' or: 'God, exalted is He, has given you all of that, all that you hoped for in its entirety.'
