حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَجْلَحَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ قَالَ
إِنَّ اللهَ [تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى] أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَعْرِضَ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَيْكَ، قَالَ: وَسَمَّانِي لَكَ رَبِّي [تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى] ؟ قَالَ: بِفَضْلِ اللهِ وَبِرَحْمَتِهِ فَبِذَلِكَ فَلْتَفْرَحُوا هَكَذَا قَرَأَهَا أُبَيٌّ.

✧ Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) commanded me to present the Qurʾān to you. He said, 'And did my Lord (Blessed and Exalted is He) name me to you?' He said, 'By the bounty of Allah and His mercy; so in that let them rejoice' — thus Ubayy recited it.
