حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ لُوَيْنٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ
كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَسَأَلُوهُ أَنَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْغَنَمِ؟ فَقَالَ إِنْ شِئْتُمْ فَتَوَضَّئُوا وَإِنْ شِئْتُمْ لَا تَتَوَضَّئُوا فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَنَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْإِبِلِ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ تَوَضَّئُوا قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ نُصَلِّي فِي مَرَابِضِ الْغَنَمِ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالُوا نُصَلِّي فِي مَبَارِكِ الْإِبِلِ؟ قَالَ لَا

✧ I was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when they asked him, "Should we perform ablution from the meat of sheep?" He said, "If you wish, perform ablution, and if you wish, do not perform ablution." They said, "O Messenger of God, should we perform ablution from the meat of camels?" He said, "Yes, perform ablution." They said, "O Messenger of God, shall we pray in the folds of sheep?" He said, "Yes." They said, "Shall we pray in the resting places of camels?" He said, "No."
