حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُعَلِّمُّ أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ الْيَمَامِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ
جَاءَ جُرْمُقَانِيٌّ إِلَى أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَيْنَ صَاحِبُكُمْ هَذَا الَّذِي يَزْعُمُ أَنَّهُ نَبِيٌّ؟ لَئِنْ سَأَلْتُهُ لَأَعْلَمَنَّ أَنَّهُ نَبِيٌّ أَوْ غَيْرُ نَبِيٍّ قَالَ فَجَاءَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ الْجُرْمُقَانِيُّ اقْرَأْ عَلَيَّ أَوْ قُصَّ عَلَيَّ فَتَلَا عَلَيْهِ آيَاتٍ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللهِ فَقَالَ الْجُرْمُقَانِيُّ هَذَا وَاللهِ الَّذِي جَاءَ بِهِمُوسَى قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ مُنْكَرٌ

✧ A Jurmuqani came to the companions of Muhammad ﷺ and said: "Where is this companion of yours who claims that he is a prophet? If I ask him, I will surely know whether he is a prophet or not." He said: Then the Prophet ﷺ came, and the Jurmuqani said: "Recite to me, or narrate to me." So he recited to him verses from the Book of Allah. The Jurmuqani said: "This, by Allah, is what Musa came with." ʿAbd Allah b. Ahmad said: "This hadith is rejected."
