حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَامِرِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ جُرِحَ فَآذَتْهُ الْجِرَاحَةُ فَدَبَّ إِلَى مَشَاقِصَ فَذَبَحَ بِها نَفْسَهُ فَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَقَالَ كُلُّ ذَلِكَ أَدَبٌ مِنْهُ هَكَذَا أَمْلَاهُ عَلَيْنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ وَلَا أَحْسَبُ هَذِهِ الزِّيَادَةَ إِلَّا مِنْ قَوْلِ شَرِيكٍ قَوْلَهُ ذَلِكَ أَدَبٌ مِنْهُ

✧ A man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ was wounded, and the wound pained him, so he crept to some arrowheads and slaughtered himself with them. The Prophet ﷺ did not pray over him, and said: "All of that is discipline from him." Thus ʿAbd Allah b. ʿAmir dictated it to us from his book, and I do not think this addition is except from the saying of Sharik, his saying: "That is discipline from him."
