✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed through our dwellings and noticed the smell of roasting meat. He asked: Who is this who has slaughtered? A man from among us came out to him and said: O Messenger of Allah, this was a day on which meat was disliked, so I slaughtered to eat and to feed my neighbors. He said: Repeat it. He said: No, by the One besides whom there is no god, I have only a jadhaʿah of sheep, or a lamb. He said this three times. He said: Slaughter it, and a jadhaʿah will not suffice for anyone after you.
