✧ A man heard the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ بُدَيْلٍ الْعُقَيْلِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ شَقِيقٍ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ مَنْ
أَخْبَرَهُ مَنْ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ بِوَادِي الْقُرَى وَهُوَ عَلَى فَرَسِهِ، وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بُلْقِينٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ [ ﷺ ]، مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ ؟ قَالَ: هَؤُلَاءِ الْمَغْضُوبُ عَلَيْهِمْ، وَأَشَارَ إِلَى الْيَهُودِ. قَالَ: فَمَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ ؟ قَالَ: هَؤُلَاءِ الضَّالِّينَ، يَعْنِي النَّصَارَى. قَالَ: وَجَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: اسْتُشْهِدَ مَوْلَاكَ، أَوْ قَالَ: غُلَامُكَ فُلَانٌ. قَالَ: بَلْ يُجَرُّ إِلَى النَّارِ فِي عَبَاءَةٍ غَلَّهَا
Translation

✧ He was informed by someone who heard the Prophet ﷺ at Wadi al-Qura while he was on his horse. A man from Bulqin asked him: 'O Messenger of God, who are these?' He said: 'These are those upon whom is wrath,' and he pointed to the Jews. He said: 'Then who are these?' He said: 'These are those who go astray,' meaning the Christians. Then a man came to him and said: 'Your freedman—or your servant—so-and-so has been martyred.' He said: 'Rather, he will be dragged into the Fire in a cloak he stole.'
