✧ When I was a boy, I used to throw stones at date palms belonging to the Anṣār. The Prophet ﷺ was brought word, and it was said, “There is a boy here throwing stones at our date palms.” I was brought to the Prophet ﷺ and he said, “O boy, why do you throw stones at the date palms?” He said: I said, “To eat.” He said, “Do not throw stones at the date palms; eat what falls at their bases.” Then he wiped my head and said, “O God, fill his belly.”
