✧ We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, and the people were taking turns riding, and there were few riding animals. The turn of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and my turn came to dismount, so he caught up with me from behind and struck my shoulder, saying: "Say: 'I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak.'" So I said: "I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited it and I recited it with him. Then he said: "Say: 'I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind.'" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited it and I recited it with him. He said: "When you pray, recite these two."
