حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ شُعْبَةَ حَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ كُهَيْلٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْحَكَمِ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ، فَقَالَ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ وَالدُّبَّاءِ، وَقَالَ: مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يُحَرِّمَ مَا حَرَّمَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، فَلْيُحَرِّمِ النَّبِيذَ

✧ I asked Ibn Abbas about nabidh made in earthenware jars, and he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade nabidh made in earthenware jars and gourds. And he said: Whoever is pleased to deem forbidden what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden, let him deem nabidh forbidden.
