حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ كُلُّ غُلَامٍ رَهِينَةٌ بِعَقِيقَتِهِ تُذْبَحُ يَوْمَ سَابِعِهِ وَيُحْلَقُ وَيُدَمَّى

Translation

✧ The Prophet of God ﷺ used to say: 'Every boy is held in pledge for his ʿaqīqah, which is slaughtered on his seventh day, and he is shaved and smeared with blood.'
