✧ From the narration of Samurah bin Jundub, about the Prophet ﷺ.

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَسْكُتُ سَكْتَتَيْنِ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنَ الْقِرَاءَةِ فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ وَكَتَبُوا إِلَى أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِمْ أَنْ صَدَقَ سَمُرَةُ

Translation

Chain of narrators

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ used to pause twice: when he entered the prayer and when he finished the recitation. 'Imran b. Husayn objected to that, so they wrote to Ubayy b. Ka'b. He wrote back to them: 'Samurah has spoken the truth.'
