حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ وَعَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي فَزَارَةَ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ قَالَ
أَتَى نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ أَعْرَابِيٌّ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ فَقَطَعَ عَلَيْهِ خُطْبَتَهُ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كَيْفَ تَقُولُ فِيالضَّبِّ؟ قَالَ أُمَّةٌ مُسِخَتْ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ فَلَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ الدَّوَابِّ مُسِخَتْ؟

✧ A bedouin came to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ while he was delivering a sermon and interrupted his sermon, saying: “O Messenger of Allah, what do you say about the dabb (lizard)?” He said: “A community that was transformed from the Children of Israel, so I do not know which of the creatures it was transformed into.”
