حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنِ عُيَيْنَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ
جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ خُرَاسَانَ، وَإِنَّ أَرْضَنَا أَرْضٌ بَارِدَةٌ، فَذَكَرَ مِنْ ضُرُوبِ الشَّرَابِ، فَقَالَ: اجْتَنِبْ مَا أَسْكَرَ مِنْ زَبِيبٍ أَوْ تَمْرٍ، أَوْ مَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ، قَالَ: مَا تَقُولُ فِي نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ ؟ قَالَ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ
Translation

✧ A man came to Ibn Abbas and said: "I am a man from the people of Khurasan, and our land is a cold land." He mentioned types of drink. Ibn Abbas said: "Avoid whatever intoxicates, whether from raisins or dates or anything else." He said: "What do you say about nabidh in earthenware jars?" He said: "The Messenger of God ﷺ forbade nabidh in earthenware jars."
