حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَخْبَرَنَا مَنْصُورٌ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَعْتَقَ سِتَّةَ مَمْلُوكِينَ لَهُ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ، وَلَيْسَ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُمْ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ لَا أُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ دَعَا بِالرَّقِيقِ، فَجَزَّأَهُمْ ثَلَاثَةَ أَجْزَاءٍ فَأَعْتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ، وَأَرَقَّ أَرْبَعَةً

Translation

✧ A man from the Ansar freed six of his slaves at the time of his death, and he had no wealth other than them. That reached the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: "I had intended not to pray over him." He said: Then he called for the slaves and divided them into three parts, so he freed two and kept four as slaves.
