قَالَ

وَقَتَلْتُ عَبْدَ الْعُزَّى بْنَ خَطَلٍ وَهُوَ مُتَعَلِّقٌ بِسِتْرِ الْكَعْبَةِ، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ: النَّاسُ آمِنُونَ غَيْرَ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى بْنِ خَطَلٍ

Translation

✧ And I killed ʿAbd al-ʿUzza b. Khatal while he was clinging to the curtain of the Kaʿbah. The Messenger of God ﷺ said on the day of the conquest of Makkah: The people are safe except ʿAbd al-ʿUzza b. Khatal.
