✧ In the latter part of his life, when the sitting became long and he stood up, the Prophet ﷺ would say: 'Glory be to You, O Allah, and with Your praise. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.' Some of us said to him: This is a saying we have not heard from you before. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'This is an expiation for what occurs in the sitting.'

machine translationThe narration of Manṣūr is more likely [to be correct], because the narration of Abū Hāshim was narrated by Ḥajjāj b. Dīnār from Abū Hāshim, and Ḥajjāj is not strong (laysa bi-l-qawī). As for the narration of al-Rabīʿ b. Anas, below him is Musʿab b. Ḥayyān from Muqātil b. Ḥayyān.
in مسند أحمد, p. 20018 - Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī
machine translationThe narration of Manṣūr is more likely [to be correct], because al-Thawrī narrated it, and he is the best memorizer among them.

machine translationThe mursal version is more correct (aṣaḥḥ).
