✧ I went with my father to Abu Barzah al-Aslami. My father said to him: Tell us how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray the prescribed prayers. He said: He used to pray the noon prayer, which you call the first, when the sun began to decline. He would pray the 'Asr, and one of us would return to his mount in Madinah while the sun was still bright. He said: I forgot what he said about the Maghrib. He used to prefer to delay the 'Isha', and he disliked sleeping before it and talking after it. He used to finish the Fajr prayer when one of us could recognize his companion, and he used to recite between sixty and one hundred verses.

machine translationThe ḥadīth of Abū Barzah is more authentic (aṣaḥḥ) than the ḥadīth of Aws b. Ḥudhayfah, who said: "I was among the delegation of Thaqīf, and the Prophet ﷺ would come to us every night after the ʿishāʾ prayer and speak to us standing on his feet, until he shifted his weight from one foot to the other. Most of what he told us was what he had met with from his people, the Quraysh."
