حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ لِي أَبُو مُوسَى: يَا بُنَيَّ لَوْ رَأَيْتَنَا وَنَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، وَأَصَابَنَا الْمَطَرُ وَجَدْتَ مِنَّا رِيحَ الضَّأْنِ.

✧ Abu Musa said to me: O my son, if you had seen us while we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and rain fell upon us, you would have found from us the smell of sheep.
