✧ Some people from the Ashʿarīs came to me and said, 'Go with us to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, for we have a need.' He said: I went with them, and they said, 'O Messenger of Allah, seek our help in your work.' So I apologized to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for what they said, and I said, 'I did not know what their need was.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ believed me and excused me, and said, 'We do not seek help in our work from those who ask us for it.'
